Job Description:
This position requires a time commitment of at least 20 hours a week centered around a project deadline. The Teacher Recruiting Fellow will work closely with the CEO of EnCorps as we bring in a new cohort of 200 teachers for 2010. The position will be a combination of event planning, communicating with potential teacher candidates and helping those entering the program to understand the steps to become a teacher.
Responsibilities:
• Correspond with retirees who are considering teaching
• Communicate with candidates who will attend EnCorps interview days
• Provide logistical support for information sessions and interview days at schools in the Bay Area and Los Angeles
• General office duties including filing, general correspondence and phone
• Complete a personal fellowship project to be determined with the CEO
Requirements:
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize based on importance and meeting deadlines
• Strong computer and phone skills, knowledge of InDesign a plus
• Self-starter able to work alone and as a member of a team
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be well-organized
• A passion for education and working with older adults
• Knowledge of Salesforce and Webex a plus, but willing to train the right candidate!
• Must be ready to have fun and work creatively.
• Works well in a faced-paced environment
