Relevant experience.
EnCorps teachers start by observing and guest teaching in effective classrooms serving low income students.  Prior to becoming full time teachers, candidates have taught through programs such as Citizen Schools , College Track , and Aim High or have served as guest teachers in our partner school districts and charter management organizations.

Relevant training.
EnCorps Summer Boot Camp.  These intensive days of training and transition kick off the first year of support for EnCorps teachers.  In conjunction with the New Teacher Center in Santa Cruz, our full time teacher training builds on each Pioneer's classroom and professional experience. 

First year support services include Winter Institute, mentoring from a content specific master teacher through the New Teacher Center and EnCorps staff.
